Weird Games and Weirder People

Hello, weirdos!

Welcome to Weird Games and Weirder People, my name is Diogo Nogueira and I will be your host in a series of interviews or chats I am having with creators and artists from the tabletop RPG scene, especially the weird “Indie” people, who creates more personal and, why not, weirder games, weirder, art, weirder fiction, and so on. That’s the stuff I crave, and I think many of us do as well.

Weird Games and Weirder People is a podcast about role playing games and the weird wonderful people bedim them. This is the show where we welcome the weirdness both inside and outside each and everyone of us, and talk about how we harness its power to our creations.

I am a game designer and artist from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I publish most of my creations under the Old Skull Publishing label I created in 2016, but I have worked and continue to work with many other publishers and creators all around the world. My latest games, and the ones I am currently more focused on are Primal Quest and Kosmosaurs (both exploring my obsession with dinosaurs and fantasy), but you might also know my work from the Ennie award-winning adventure for Old-School Essentials, Halls of the Blood King, or from some of my previous games like Sharp Swords & Sinister Spells, Solar Blades & Cosmic Spells, Lost in the Fantasy World, and one of the others. I am also an artist and graphic designer, working on my own games and on other people’s RPGs as well (I recently illustrated all the classes from Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea 3rd Edition Corebook for example).

I am making this podcast because one of my favorite parts of the hobby is to explore not only the weird creations of all the amazing people that contribute to it, but to get to know these people a little better, and then to understand their creations in a deeper way as well.

So that’s what I am trying to do here. Me and you, we are going to talk to those weird wonderful people, ask them about themselves, about their work, about their relationship with the weird, and in the end we are going to have a much better understanding of not only that person, their work, and, why not art, but of ourselves too.

We are all different. We are all weird. We are all the same.

So keep listening, and get to know these amazing creators a little bit better!

Let’s get weird!
